Ogni giorno mostra il suo amore
I title these in Italian, you can look up google translate to help you know what it says. That's how I know what to write! Thank goodness for google translate. I have Italian lessons at least once or twice a week. I am really enjoying it. It's fun learning a new language, especially when I am immersed in it. Much easier to have the energy and drive to learn. It's not easy, it feels like school again a bit, but it's a good feel. My tests aren't graded either, ;) But she does give us homework!
Every day I see God's love being shown to me. Everyday! Whether it's through another person, nature (wind, sunrise, sunset), an animal, a message, a smile, a hug. EVERYDAY! The other day I was overwhelmed and feeling sad. I had just gotten off of the phone with my sister and a little black dog ran up to me and climbed on my lap and just sat with me while I pet it. It is exactly something that Buckwheat would do. It was not a coincidence. I cried with gratitude after that, it felt good.
This week has had a lot of neat experiences. Im getting to know more and more people and spending time with them. People are more than happy to help and serve with food and time. We get offered rides, meals, convinces that they've found, etc... This week, Jan, Barbara and I went into the city of Rome. We did a hop on hop off bus that took us around to 8 different spots around the city. It was a great way to experience Rome for the first day. This allowed us to see where things were and to pick and choose where we wanted to spend our time. We took the loop a couple of times. We got off and walked over to the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. It was a lot to take in, it was a bit overwhelming and I couldn't take it all in. There was too much. It'll be fun to go back and take my time to learn and feel more.
Wednesday, we did a trip to Ostia Antica. It is like a small Pompeii. Ancient ruins and a lot of history and old life there. It was Brother and Sister Anderson, Sister Winder, and Sandy Winder and myself. We took our time and toured around, learning and imagining what it would have been like over 2000 years ago. We then went out to the Mediterranean Sea for a bit to find shells and walk in the water. It's been a wonderful week. There are ups and downs, but the ups definitely outweigh the downs.
Words can't describe the temple. It's so wonderful to be there 5 days a week and feel of Gods love. Today a sister shared that she had just spend a day in the city of Rome, touring and exploring, then today she literally felt a change in the spirit as she got closer to the temple grounds. It's a piece of heaven.
