day 21- sept 21
Last full day in Krabi and Thailand. We had some yummy breakfast. Toast, yogurt, cereal, bananas, and mom had some sticky rice and custard. Then we were picked up by our tour van and headed to the dock. They had complimentary snacks while we waited to get on our speed boat. We chose the Phi Phi Island tour. There were around 20 of us on the boat. The day was cloudy and our tour team said they would need to check weather a few times. We took off, our first stop was to view chicken island so we could same some photos and so they could check the weather. They suggested we put our bags under the cabin. Thank goodness!! They said it would be about a 45 minute ride to Phi Phi Islands. We were cleared to keep going, as we proceeded, the water got rougher and rougher and spray everyone in the boat. We were really grateful that we had our swim suits on. It was so funny to watch the reactions of everyone, especially the two guys in the back who got drenched first. Our driver was 23 years old and did amazing!! We had some swells that were around 6-8 or so and he rode them like a champ! They provided water and juice on the boat too. It was amazing how smooth the ride felt even though it looked like chaos. It was very peaceful though and reminded mom of times she boated with her dad. The first island we stopped at was Phi phi ley. This place was so turquoise. They let us get out and swim!! We jumped off the front of the boat and I did a backflip. Everyone cheered especially when mom got up. They said "wow!" Maybe it's her sparkly gray hair. ☺️ we rode by Monkey beach, but monkeys didn't come out because of the rain. Then we stopped at Phi Phi Don.(cool named like grandpa!) this part of phi phi don we did snorkeling. Mom went to take a photo of me with her waterproof camera and it slipped and she dropped her camera in the sea. It was about 10-15 feet down so we found a local and asked him to dive. He was happy to help and we were so glad to get it back! We then stopped off to get some lunch that the tour provided. At this time, the weather had gotten really exciting. It was raining so much, like buckets! The food was delicious especially the sweet and sour chicken. We went to go back to the boat and we thought we were a little lost but luckily mom figured out where to go. It was pouring the whole time. So we took some photos of the crazy moment! We hopped back on the boat and headed to another side of the island and did more snorkeling. We saw marine life and some eels and sea urchins and lots of fish. One was green, pink, purple, and blue. Striped ones. Mom saw some nemo
and gill fish. So we went to three different places on Phi Phi Don island, lunch and two snorkels. Our last stop was Bamboo island. This place we could have gotten lost in because it was so beautiful! Sandy beaches and we had to use the bathroom so we went into the ocean and the tides took mom out! She had sand everywhere and luckily I had her camera so I could capture the moment! (Photos to come when I get back home!) then we journeyed back. This ride was till peaceful, felt a little more rough even though the swells weren't very large. He was going so fast it was awesome! It was quiet on the way back in, everyone seemed more aware of what was going on. With the weather it got kinda chilly, so we put on ponchos in for warmth.

We returned and took nice hot showers, and decided to go rent a motorbike for a couple of hours. The rental shop was just two shops down. The owners were from Russia. He was a bit hesitant to have us go. I took it for a test drive to get used to it, he said to mom "brave woman." We hopped on and took it for a spin. We stayed on the same road so that we didn't get lost. It was a nice evening and the breeze felt so good. Once we came to a more busy place, we decided to turn back. On the way back we stopped at a cute shop and tried on some clothes. We stopped at 7-11 and checked to make sure we knew which motorbike was ours. We got some snacks, then returned the motorbike. He had to take it for a spin to make sure no damage was done. We walked down to the restaurant on the beach that we've eaten at every night since we got here, and got cheese and potato appetizer, it was called Cheese Croquette. And sweet and
sour chicken and prawns and of course, mango with sticky rice. A couple of people from our hostel were at the same restaurant. We were able to chat with them for a bit. They are from South Africa. We've been blessed to meet so many wonderful people. Our sweet waitress told us she loved us and was sad we were leaving. We walked up the road for a foot massage, we didn't want more than that after our previous experience. It was very relaxing and a good way to end a long day.
