day 1-sept 1-2
Today it begins! Alarm went off at 3:30AM (totally was awake before that wondering when my alarm would go off!) and off to the airport! SLC to LA. After a couple hugs of see you later, we checked in.
On our short flight to LA we finished up some mail we wanted to send out in LA. After asking a couple shops, we soon learned that no stamps are sold at LAX and no mail boxes are there! Darn it! Luckily we have a cousin in LA. She lives an hour away from the airport and her sweetness is going to drive here to get this mail and send it off! Tender mercy and such kindness already. We feel so blessed! Thank you Sherri!
It's been fun, we exchanged money to Thai baht, waited in line for lunch for a half our or so and witnessed an argument in some other language plus English every once in a while, (real hard to follow the drama when I only understand some of it!)) mom thought I was taken or something because it took so long. She was a trooper and stayed with our bags. We are feeling so excited and apprehensive/unsure about this 15 hour next flight! LA to Guangzhou, China!
This flight was super awesome, we had two full meals, great selection of sky movies, pillows, and blankets, games (moms favorite was bejeweled for sure). Sleeping was kinda odd, our bodies weren't sure what we needed since we gained almost a day crossing the international time line. Oh and wehave to mention our friend Harry that we met, he was on our row and really enjoyed his sleep. He lulled us with his snores! So let's talk about Harry for a minute, first off, there was a distinct odor coming from his oral cavity. Second, he was in he aisle seat, and for mom and I, 15 hours is many trips to the laboratory/toilets. Harry was often sleeping, so that required mom and I to get creative with escaping our row. Thank heavens for arm rests and Harry's patience with me slipping on his lap while trying to be cat-like. He was doing his usual snore, when I fell right into that lap. Luckily, he fell right back asleep. He was super helpful when we got to the China airport; showed us where to go and everything. Tender mercy! China to Bangkok!
Just got to Thailand!! Passing through immigration was a lot easier and smoother than we thought! We have our first stamps in our passport! We are very excited to see 🇹🇭 in the light. We have my roommate from my freshman year of college taking us to church and around tomorrow, she lives here in Thailand! On our shuttle from the airport to our hotel we saw lots of stray dogs, really small alleyways that I'm not sure how our driver got through, and lots of kindness! We can definitely feel Gods love and service through others!
We are so appreciative of all those who have helped us be able to experience this once in a lifetime adventure!

Oh dear it's all on this side of the wall by the mayor or maybe there's one in the bathroom OK
| We have only carry one. Wasn't sure if weight would be an issue, but no issues! |
